I teach out of A Pinch of Luck Stables, INC.
Classes are offered year-round to riders of all levels. My lessons focus on trail obstacle and pleasure riding, as well as gaming and jumping. Students learn to control and guide their horse over, thru and around various horse safe obstacles. My students ride both English and western. Students learn several aspects of riding and horsemanship and are encouraged to learn the why’s instead of just the how’s. Students learn to groom, saddle, lead, and care for his or her horse (or lesson horse). My lessons are perfect for students interested in show, trail riding, future horse ownership, or just a summer of fun!
I progress at the students speed. I take my time with timid and nervous riders and encourage setting small goals while bolder riders may progress quickly.
I offer private and group lessons. Private lessons are required for riders under the age of 8 and for the first couple riding lessons. Group lessons are small groups usually consisting of 3-4 riders. Classed are offered to children ages 3 and older and adults. Classes are broken up into age groups - an adult does not ride with a child unless it is a parent/grandparent/friend.
All you need to participate are long pants (jeans or riding pant), boots with heels, and a riding helmet. We do have a small selection of helmets to borrow for your first few lessons. I also highly recommend gloves, especially for cold days. Long hair must be pulled out of the face and jackets zipped so they are not falling off the shoulder.
I am a qualified, certified riding instructor and focuses on teaching safe fun horsemanship. I have over 10 years teaching experience working with many different students including special needs riders, timid riders, and riders with bad experiences.
The horses I use are safe and sound and enjoy their work. Sizes range from medium ponies and to large horses for the comfort of young riders, yet care carry an adult rider with ease. I will also teach on your own horse.
Students have the option of attending local schooling shows. Participation is at the discretion of the student, instructor, and parents. This is not required. We attend shows geared toward our student’s interest and riding abilities.
Riding lessons are offered Sunday Mornings, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at A Pinch of Luck, Inc in Woodstock. Lessons are available in the morning or evening after work.
Lessons are taught weekly.
A monthly package of half hour private lessons is $140. (That’s $35 per lesson.)
